FIELD: microbiological industry. SUBSTANCE: bacterial strain is isolated from willow defoliation. Strain is deposited at No. B-4117, it inhibits growth of virulent agrobacteria inducing grape bacterial cancer and in other plants. Proposed strain shows enlarged spectrum of antagonistic effect as compared with that of strain Agrobacterium radiobacter 84, which is used for struggle against bacterial cancer. Strain inhibits growth of agrobacteria containing plasmids of octopine and nopaline types. Also, proposed strain inhibits antagonistic action against other phytopathogenic bacteria inducing sickness of significant agriculture cultures. Treatment of grape cuttings with cell suspension inhibits tumor formation in plants. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of bacterial strain. 2 tbl
