FIELD: continuous casting. SUBSTANCE: aluminium rod with modifiers is placed into melt in which crossing electric and magnetic fields are produced to impart to melt motion which does not coincide with initial direction of melt flow. Aluminium rod before its introduction into melt is heated by current passed through it. EFFECT: higher intensity of modification due to uniform distribution of modifiers in melt volume and more homogeneous cast structure of ingot. 2 dwg
