FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: flexible current lead is manufactured in the form of rigid clamping casings from carbon-carbon material in the shape of frame made of rods and filaments filled with amorphous and pyrolythic carbon flexible low-modulus filaments forming coupling of these casings. Casing has two sections with different degree of rigidity. Frames of casings are assembled with the aid of attachments Saturation with pyrocarbon is conducted with heating of casings from butts up to 1000-1100 C by feed of natural gas with flat jet at acute angle to surface of frame from side of flexible elements of current lead. Device for saturation with pyrocarbon has chamber with upper and lower current leads and system of gas feed. Current lead elements have slots for registration of casings of machined current lead in them with the use of wedges. System of gas feed is fitted with slit nozzles embracing casings.
