FIELD: missile and space art. SUBSTANCE: prefabricated carbon frames are impregnated by a binding agent and mounted in a shell flanged at one end and having the form of a pipe with an electroinsulating layer applied to its inner surface. Curing of the binding agent follows. The process of saturating the frame with pyrocarbon is effected simultaneously in two temperature zones. For this purpose in order that saturation is started the frame area nearest to center is successively heated first to the temperature ranging from 350 to 800 C with the heating accompanied by positively pumping natural gas through the frame. The heating zones are continuously withdrawn along a radius from the center of the frame in the direction to its edge at the rate varying from 0.3 to 1.0 min/h.
