FIELD: mine lifting aggregates. SUBSTANCE: method is based on comparison of control signals, length of unreeled from lifting machine drum pulling rope and way, passed by empty vessel in mine shaft. In case of lack of the values correspondence to each other signal is generated to switch on safety brake. measurement of unreeled from drum rope length is exercised by integration by time of drum angular speed. Measurement of empty vessel passed way in mine shaft is exercised by launch of acoustic wave of given frequency in empty vessel pulling rope, its reception in zone of guiding pulleys, selection of Doppler frequency signal by mixer and its integration. Comparison of unreeled from drum rope length and empty vessel passed way in mine shaft is exercised in unit of comparison and rope loose is determined by difference of their values. Apparatus to realize the method has additional switch board, connected between receivers and information processing unit, drum angular speed sensor, multiplier and drum rope one circle length reference control unit.
