FIELD: mining equipment; double-end hoists with brake ropes. SUBSTANCE: mounted on hoisting containers for engagement with brake ropes are vibration transmitters in form of lateral vibration generators, each made in form of impact mechanism. Adapters connected with inputs of corresponding vibration receivers are mounted on brake ropes by means of sliding ropes at the level of upper point of attachment of brake ropes. Output of vibration receivers are connected with input of information processing unit through electromechanical switch. Information process unit is made of series- connected amplifier and single-threshold comparator whose output, being output of information processing unit, is connected to safety brake of hoist drive. Frequency of lateral vibrations of generators is proportional to speed of movement of empty container in mine shaft. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of protection. 3 dwg
