FIELD: machine building. SUBSTANCE: processing plates as half-finished products involves conducting the last hot deformation at 360-420 C, said deformation is followed by two-stepped hardening. The first step is carried out by heating to 470-480 C, time lap is calculated allowing 15-45 min per 20 mm of plate thick, then cooling in water takes place. The second step takes place by heating to 445-465 C, time lap being 1.2-2.0 times more that for the first step. The process is followed by cooling to 150 C at rate 0.8-1.5 C/s. Plates having degree of residual deformation 1.5-3.0 % are corrected in interval between the first and the second step of hardening. Artificial ageing is carried out within 7-24 h at 115-125 C. Fatigue strength thus processed details is 180-200 cycles at stress 16 kgf/mm2. EFFECT: increases safety, improves quality of desired articles. 2 tbl
