FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: this method prescribes manufacturing lockless orthopedic apparatus in pre-operative period, fitting it on tuber ischiadicum and popliteal ligament portion with unloading lower extremity, modernizing apparatus, counterbalancing mass deficit by weight, and then applying permanent prosthesis as stump builds up. Lower extremity orthopedic apparatus includes femur and shin splints interconnected by lockless knee unit, femur sleeve connected to shin splints, and talocrural assembly. Disclosed apparatus is characterized in that in order to relieve distal portions of affected extremity during walk on orthopedic apparatus in pre-operative period, rigid femur sleeve has pad for seating tuber ischiadicum, rigid shin sleeve has collapsible rear wall to provide deep seating and splints are made extensible to allow varying and fixing their longitudinal dimensions.
