METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF PSEUDARTHROSES AND NON-UNITABLE FRACTURES IN SHIN BONES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, patients' rehabilitation. SUBSTANCE: active electrode (Ea) is applied, in succession, onto tibial muscle anteriorly above fracture (pseudarthrosis) zone onto rectus femoris in its median third, onto biceps femoris at point lying 3 cm below gluteal fold, and onto gluteus maximus in its upper third. Indifferent electrode (Ei) is applied, in succession, onto posterior and upper surfaces of shin at point lying 3-4 cm distally from fracture (pseudarthrosis), and next onto biceps femoris at point lying 5-6 cm more distally and under gluteal fold. Next, as patient walks in locking orthopedic prosthesis he is subjected to treatment by electrostimulating massage starting from initial 20-minute session, and patient is made to walk to distance 500-600 mm. By 5-6 sessions massage duration is extended to 60 min and patient is made to walk to distance 2-2.5 km. EFFECT: accelerated healing of slow consolidation of fracture (pseudarthrosis) in shin bones, between support for patient during walking. 4 dwg, 1 tbl
