FIELD: purification of gases. SUBSTANCE: method consists in two-stage acid treatment of basalt fibre. Washing of fibre between stages is performed simultaneously with freeing of non-fibrous inclusions; to this end, working solution of acid is diluted with water to a concentration of fibrous mass of 1.5-2%, then it is mixed and is kept for 3 to 10 minutes for settling, after which suspension is fed to perforated drum revolving at a speed of 0.3 to 6 m/s; drum is equipped with filter; washing is then performed and reactor is freed of non-fibrous inclusions; this done, second stage of treatment is started; final washing is effected in perforated drum revolving at a speed of 0.3 to 15 m/s.
