DEVICE FOR WASTE WATER TREATMENT Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical purification of petroleum-containing waste water in field of centrifugal forces; may be used in purification works of oil tank farms, oil fields and purification sections of tanker ballast water. SUBSTANCE: mounted in housing 1 on drive shaft 3 is disk 4 which carries disk 5 on flexible support 15 forming back pressure chamber 13 between them with circular partitions 14 for coarse purification of oil flows before circular slit 8 between non-rigid partitions 6 and 7 where flows are divided by density into water and oil which is located in inner layer and becomes cohesive with surface of partition 7. At outlet from under free edge 10 of partition 6, water whose cohesive force with oil is lesser than cohesive force of oil with material of partition 7 runs off and is discharged from housing 1 through branch pipe 16 while oil continues its downward motion over partition 7 to free edge 9 where it is accumulated. When mass of oil has reached such magnitude when its force of inertia exceeds cohesive force, oil runs off. Device is provided with weights 11 with wedge-shaped sections 12 which create vibration of partition 7, thus enhancing purification of flows. EFFECT: high quality of purification. 2 dwg
