FIELD: medical engineering, in particular, devices for ocular refraction. SUBSTANCE: this knife includes stop, movable blade, actuating mechanism, and drive associated with blade. Stop is retaining pawl having cornea thickness measuring device. Drive is magnetically controlled member provided with blade travel transducer. Actuating mechanism incorporates computer connected to cornea thickness measuring device via signal transducer and to blade travel transducer and magnetically controlled member via amplifiers. Magnetically controlled member is bimetallic plate composed of inseparably interconnected wheels made of materials having great magnetostriction modulus, one strip having positive modulus of magnetostriction and other negative one. One strip may be made of FE2Tb and other of nickel. EFFECT: more sophisticated design. 3 cl, 2 dwg
