FIELD: parasitology. SUBSTANCE: object of this invention is accomplished by using Vi-antigen of typhoid bacteria for chemoprophylaxis of opisthorchiasis. Standard Vi-antigen in full-scale production is administered into golden hamsters in dose of 400 mcg/kg of animal's mass and golden hamsters are then infected by fifty metacercariae of opistorchises whose adaptability in animal's organism drops 1.6 times as compared with controls (0.01 > p > 0.05). Controls that were administered Vi-antigen exhibited less pronounced destructive processes in liver and predominant reparative reactions. EFFECT: Practical importance of revealed phenomenon consists in that application of Vi-antigen preparation to foci severely affected by opisthorchiasis for prevention of typhoid allows reducing rate of helminth infestation by incoming contingents or considerably scaling down intensity of invasion.
