FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, in particular epidemiology, and is intended for determining boundaries of natural foci of biohelminthoses with the application of genetic markers. Fish from different regions of a river basin are caught on surveyed territories. Muscular tissue in the area of the dorsal fin is performed from the fish that were caught. The muscular tissue is homogenised until the homogeneous mass is obtained, supernatant is sampled, proteins are separated by a method of vertical electrophoresis and polymorphic protein fractions are identified. Calculation of population-genetic parameters is performed for each identified polymorphic protein fraction and the genetic marker and a value of the genetic similarity (or Nei's similarity) index is determined, the presence of helminths in analysed individuals and the level of invasion are simultaneously determined. The similarity and difference of the population-genetic parameters within the limits of the surveyed territories possible boundaries of the natural foci of biohelminthoses are traced.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to determine the boundaries of the natural foci of biohelminthoses and realise anti-epidemic procedures among population.
