FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: bumper beam is secured to vehicle frame by means of damping units. Stop 3 is detachably mounted on beam. Damping unit has outer thin-walled cylinder 8 secured on bases 9 and 10 and inner cylinders 11 and 14 with covers. Resilient member 17 is installed between outer cylinder 8 and inner cylinder 11. Resilient member 18 is placed between inner cylinders 11 and 14. In case of collision load impact acting on bumper beam is transmitted to damping units. Crumpling of unit starts from outer cylinder 8 and resilient member 17, then cylinders 11 and 14 lose in turn their stability and shock energy is killed by deformation of all cylinders. EFFECT: enhanced passive safety. 35 cl, 10 dwg
