FIELD: vehicle safety.
SUBSTANCE: vehicle bumper damper contains, in a hollow body rigidly fixed to the vehicle, inertial elements placed movably with the possibility of interaction between elastic deformable units installed in the body and the striker of the bumper bar rod included in the cavity of the body. The elastic deformable units in the invention are made in the form of a cylindrical spiral from a rod of oval cross-section, and the inertial elements are made in the form of spherical bits, the diameter of which exceeds the internal diameter of the cylindrical spiral.
EFFECT: this design of a vehicle bumper damper increases energy absorption due to the fact that the elastic deformable units are made in the form of a cylindrical spiral made of an oval cross-section rod, and the inertial elements are in the form of spherical bits, the diameter of which exceeds the internal diameter of the cylindrical spiral, which eliminates unpredictable consequences during collision.
