FIELD: high-temperature gasostatic treatment of castings. SUBSTANCE: castings from high-manganese steel are subjected to 2-stage heating. At the first stage they are heated at the rate of not over 100 C/h to 700 C and held for 6 h. At the second stage, at the rate of 150 C/h to 1150 C at which temperature the castings are pressed with argon under pressure of 146 MPa for 3.5 h. Then they are discharged from gas pressure control device and cooled in running water from a temperature not below 950 C. EFFECT: invention ensures diffusion plastic deformation for remedying the casting defects of castings in the form of incontinuity of metal and makes it possible to produce homogeneous austenitic structure with high mechanical properties. 2 cl, 1 tbl
