FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: natural avirulent strain of plague microbe Yersinia pestis A-1108 KM-937 is used as a test-object for determination of structure and definition of function of plasmid pFra/Tox, and for solution of some questions concerning plague pathogen genetics. Strain has not plasmids pPst and pCad, its genetic feature - the presence of a single plasmid pFra/Tox. Strain shows high sensitivity to streptomycin, rifampicin, gentamycin, penicillin, monomycin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol and chlortetracycline. Strain is avirulent for guinea pigs and white mice at subcutaneous route of infection. EFFECT: properties of plague microbe strain indicated above.
