FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: monoplasmid avirulent strain of plague microbe Y. pestis A-1450 KM-938 is designed for definition of structure and function of calcium-dependence plasmide (pCad) in plague pathogen. Strain shows calcium dependence, its does not produce fraction I. On Jackson-Berrows medium strain grows in the form of populations consisting of 100% nonpigmented (pgm-) colonies. Strain shows high sensitivity to streptomycin, rifampicin, gentamycin, penicillin, monomycin, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, chlortetracycline. Strain is avirulent for guinea pigs and white mice at subcutaneous route of infection. EFFECT: plague strain properties indicated above.
