FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: superconducting magnet cryostat has case 1, magnet 3, and heat-insulating hangers 2. In case of cooling in respect to heat case, magnet 3 is locked in position by hangers attached to it below its horizontal axis and angle between horizontal axis and point of attachment is found from equation α = arc sinδLt/RδRm, where L is hanger length, δLt is hanger relative strain, Fm is radius of magnet locking point, δRm is magnet relative strength. In case of relative cooling of hangers and magnet, and their temperature strain, point of magnet attachment is displaced so that magnet axis does not change its position. EFFECT: improved precision of magnet locking in the course of cooling without changing its physical characteristics, facilitated manufacture of hangers and their simple design which makes it possible to simplify design of cryostat as a whole. 2 dwg
