FIELD: electrochemical processes. SUBSTANCE: method for water electrolysis is performed in a device including feed reservoir and an electrolyzer, comprising end electrodes, intermediate porous anodes and cathodes, separating partitions positioned between them, passages for gas outlet and sealing members. Face surface of porous anodes is communicated with one passage for gas outlet, and face surface of porous cathodes is communicated with another passage for gas outlet. One gas outlet passage is communicated with the feed reservoir. Process is carried out using water feed to the electrolyzer through one gas outlet channel. Water inlet to the porous electrodes is performed through their face surface. EFFECT: decreased metal content and weights and dimensions of the device. 2 cl, 2 dwg
