FIELD: shipnuilding. SUBSTANCE: oil-water mixture is fed to accumulating reservoir 1 from which accumulated mixture is fed to separator where it is subjected to separation after which oil-containing layer is transpoted to oil receiver prior to feeding the oil-water mixture to accumulating reservoir 1, it is subjected to preliminary separation into water and oil-containing layers. Device for realization of this method has accumulating reservoir 1 connected in succession with pump and separator by means of pipe line 2, oil receiver 4 connected with accumulating reservoir 1 and two-elbow seal with branch pipe 5 for receiving the oil-water mixture and directing it to first elbow 6 of hydraulic seal which is brought in communication with second elbow 7 of hydraulic seal.
