FIELD: diagnostics of equipment for cleaning liquids. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of creating an excess pressure at process of filtering liquid with a pressure drop, being increased by a value, equal, for example to 0.01 MPa, intermittently by instantaneous closing of a cross section of a head pipeline after the filter, in such a way, that a front of the above mentioned excess pressure wave passes through the filtering member in direction, opposite to a motion of liquid to be cleaned, and changes the pressure before and after the filtering member, that pressure being detected by pressure pickups. Beginning from a time moment, when after the instantaneous closing of the cross section of the pipeline a pressure drop on the filtering member does not change, the filtering member is considered to be contaminated till its maximum degree and its operating life is considered to be over. EFFECT: enlarged using range. 1 cl, 4 dwg, 1 tbl
