METHOD OF DIAGNOSING ICE BEARING AND FILTER ELEMENTS WEAR WITHOUT DISMANTLING Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G01M15/00

FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in that preset pressure difference is generated on filter 3 by intermittent and instant shutting of the pressure line downstream of the filter to create hydraulic impact and pressure difference is measured. Diagnostics is performed without breaking down the engine. In determining pressure difference on filter 3 sign of said difference is defined. Clogging of filter element 3 is taken to reach maximum value and filter element is considered used when sign of pressure difference does not vary. ICE bearing wear is determined from relationship between pressures of backward wave. Backward wave pressure measured by extra pressure gage arranged in zone 7 of hydraulic impact generation and backward wave pressure measured by pressure gage located downstream of filter 5. The greater said relation, the greater the gap in bearings.

EFFECT: possibility to determine wear of ICE bearings and filter element without breaking down of engine, higher accuracy of diagnostics.
