FIELD: polygraphy. SUBSTANCE: photocomposing machine has base-mounted housing, photographic camera vertically mounted within housing on guides, screen positioned on base, composers, device for fastening composers on screen and type letters. Photographic camera has box with clouded glass and plate with objective, with box and plate being interconnected through light-tight bellows. Type letters are fixed in composers. Photographic camera guides are made in the form of two like mechanisms mounted on inner sides of housing walls. Each mechanism has rollers and closed flexible member, which embraces rollers to define horizontal runs and pairs of vertical runs disposed in housing corners. Box with clouded glass and counterweights is fixed to associated vertical runs of flexible member of one mechanism and plate with objective and counterweights is fixed to associated vertical runs of flexible member of other mechanism. Both mechanisms are interconnected through automatic device for sighting photographic camera for acutance. Automatic device is formed as four-link pivot parallelogram.
