MECHANISM FOR RECTILlNEAR-PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT OF RULER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for mechanized drawing and graphical operations. SUBSTANCE: mechanism has drawing board and rollers with circumferential channels. Rollers are arranged in pairs in drawing board corners and fixed for rotation. Endless flexible member embraces rollers so as to define parallel runs extending along perimeter of drawing board. Ruler is attached with its ends to related horizontal runs of endless flexible member. Drawing board is mounted on support by means of brackets secured to drawing board and support, which are interconnected by spindles. Mechanism is provided with ruler remote control device having pair of vertical rollers mounted on mentioned spindles, two pairs of vertical rollers, three pairs of horizontal rollers and foot disk with circumferential channels, supports mounted on base. Flexible member embraces rollers and disk to define pairs of vertical runs extending along brackets fixed on support and pairs of parallel runs extending in horizontal plane above support base. Rollers mounted on spindles and foot disk are embraced with two runs of flexible member for displacement of runs in opposite directions. Drawing board has counterweight formed as extensible member for joining it to support. Such construction allows ruler to be moved by foot acting upon mentioned mechanism.
