FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: object of this invention is dynamic single-stage expansion of blood vessels affected by stenosis to different degrees with maintaining normal blood flow by moving catheter in desired direction and varying working effort. This catheter includes double-gap X-ray tube 1 with working member made in the form of flexible loop 2 with branches 3 and 4 made from biologically inert material and capable of executing rotary motion about longitudinal axis and longitudinal movement and changing its dimensions due to displacement of branches 3 and 4. Working member has rotary drive 5 and coupling 6. EFFECT: disclosed catheter permits avoiding complications associated with peeling-off of intima by stopping blood flow in vessel and expanding vessels irrespective of diameter of stenosed portion owing to variable geometry of loop, longitudinal movement of loop's branches and simultaneous adjustment of working effort by conventional method. 1 dwg
