FIELD: medical engineering; cardiovascular surgery. SUBSTANCE: dilatant catheter comprises resilient guide element bent at its distal end. Guide element is rotatable and movable in longitudinal direction and is coupled through reduction gear to drive mechanisms for imparting rotary and longitudinal movements. Rotation-imparting drive mechanism is coupled with connected in series element for measuring mechanical resistance to rotation and integral dilatation efforts counter. Proposed catheter can be used to restore aperture of constricted blood vessels and to dilatate hollow organs, uterine tubes, ureters, etc. Catheter becomes possible to ensure dymanic dilatation of blood vessels affected with constriction in different degree along entire length of blood vessels while keeping constant blood flow rate and keeping working efforts by dilatation controllable and adjustable. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 4 cl, 3 dwg
