FIELD: primary treatment of water. SUBSTANCE: device has a continuous filtering screen comprised of toothed members fitted on transverse shafts. Device also accommodates a driven shaft, an impurity withdrawing mechanism and two pull chains. The pull chain links are mounted to the ends of the transverse shafts in a pitch equal to the spacing of the shaft axes. The device is characterized by that a set of scouring sprockets is mounted on the driven shaft with the sprocket teeth engagingly received in the spaces defined by toothed members fitted on common transverse shafts. The toothed members have their holes for fitting removed from their ends at a distance equal to half the pull chain pitch. Apparatus can be used for purification of sewage water contaminated with mechanical impurities, fats, fish's scale and bird's fluff and feathers. EFFECT: improved quality of treatment. 4 dwg
