FIELD: test equipment. SUBSTANCE: amplitudes of oscillations are measured at end of the waveguide at the side of excitement. Excitement frequency is changed additionally till standing wave is generated with fi frequency. Length L of the waveguide is determined from expression L=Cσ/[2(fc-fp)], where c is speed of propagation of waves, σ is number of rise of standing wave in fp-fc frequency range. Acoustic or electromagnet oscillations are excited from the open cavity. EFFECT: improved precision; simplified process of measurement. 2 cl, 17 cl, 6 dwg
