FIELD: air-heating units. SUBSTANCE: electric water heater has sealed insulating housing with admission and outlet pipes at ends, and heating element arranged inside housing over its entire length; it is essentially Archimedes' spiral of thin conducting strip corrugated along two coordinate axes and covered with insulating coat on surface; housing has hole accommodating diaphragm secured at its contour and made of thermal bimetal with initial convexity on active layer side, with active layer inside housing; electric contact is installed on external side in diaphragm center and insulated from the latter; other electric contact is mounted on insulating bracket fixed on housing coaxially with diaphragm-mounted contact in a spaced relation; contact are connected in series with heating element; surface of heating element is covered, in addition, with conducting coat connected to ground conductor and sealing antifriction insulating coat.
