FIELD: power engineering; domestic and industrial water heaters. SUBSTANCE: method includes connection of some parts to ground and other parts to neutral wire to reduce electrical potential of water at inlet and outlet of water heater. In case of fault in neutral wire circuit of supply mains, water flow through drain pipe of water heater is ceased thereby affording three-fold protection. EFFECT: improved reliability and reduced cost of protection.
