FIELD: manufacture of facing tiles. SUBSTANCE: method for manufacture of facing tile includes placing of inserts from burning-out material into mold space, loading of raw material, molding of blank, blank drying and firing with burning out of inserts. Made on back side of tile are open hollows by placing on mold base, e.g. wood low-ash inserts whose surface contacting mold base is made flat. Inserts may be cylindrical or of other shapes (ellipse, triangle, etc). Insert height is equal to 1/2-3/4 of tile thickness to avoid impairing its strength. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 cl, 3 dwg
