FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: monitor counter is calibrated and tested by standard means with different working products in compliance with method of calibration and testing of liquid and gas meters. Family of calibration characteristics is determined and stored. Testing product is fed into measurement line as flow and required value of flow rate is established. Conversion factor of monitor counter is found for testing product. Obtained value is compared with conversion factor of monitor counter for given working product found from family of calibration characteristics produced in advance. Value of conversion factor of monitor counter for testing product is brought to correspondence with conversion factor of working product by measurement of parameters of testing product.
