FIELD: drying lumbers. SUBSTANCE: device has tight chamber with movable cover, flat heating members, and apparatus for evacuation and removing condensate. The tight chamber comprises rigid base and tight cap fixed with respect to the base. The cap is provided with a rigid cover, and the walls of the cap are made of a corrugated sheet material. The air-operated chamber, which can be modified, is provided with a movable shield and is mounted inside the tight chamber. An air-operated member is arranged over periphery of the butt between the cap and base. The stack of lumbers is formed on the rigid base, enclosed by tight cap, fixed relatively the base, and squeezed by movable shield. The butt between the walls of the cap and base of the flexible air-operated member is sealed and the chamber is heated. As vapor is released from the lumbers, the walls of the chamber is cooled and high-pressure is created in the chamber. Next the lumbers are conditioned up to the full saturation of stack by pressure. The pressure is then reduced up to the atmospheric pressure and next the chamber is evacuated. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 5 cl, 6 dwg
