FIELD: separation of materials. SUBSTANCE: separator uses a magnetic core in the form of two hollow cylinders located in parallel and horizontally with a variable gap, and windings forming a three-phase magnetic field system, hoppers used to feed and receive the separation products, deflectors having a larger radius of curvature as compared with the radius of the cylinders. The hollow cylinders are enclosed in housings. The upper ends of the deflectors are secured on the housings in the lines of the minimum gap, and the lower ones are brought out of the zone of action of travelling magnetic fields. The housings and deflectors are made of dielectric antifriction material. At motion of the material to be separated between the electromagnetic systems it is subjected to the action of travelling sinusoidal magnetic fields that prevent formation of stable flocculi of magnetic particles with non-magnetic ones. Magnetic fractions are attracted to the surface of the housings and travel first on them and then on the surface of the deflectors, the strength of whose magnetic fields smoothly decreases. Coming out of the zone of action of magnetic fields, magnetic particles fall into the respective hopper. EFFECT: improved design. 4 cl, 3 dwg
