FIELD: dressing of mineral resources. SUBSTANCE: magnetic separator can be used to separate magnetic fraction from flow of loose material. It has feeder, rotating drum with working surface made of nonmagnetic material inside which ferromagnetic cylinder is mounted with eccentricity relative to its axis. Distance between axes is chosen from expression given in description of invention. Permanent magnets with alternating polarity and clearance between peripheral edges are put on outer surface of ferromagnetic cylinder in agreement with formula a = [π/(1/2y-1/R)]-b,, where π = 3,14= 3.14 is constant; y is thickness of material on drum, m; R is radius of ferromagnetic cylinder, m; b is width of magnetic element, m. Magnetic and nonmagnetic fractions containers are used to collect products of separation. EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency. 1 dwg
