PANEL-TYPE METAL SUPPORT Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: mining. SUBSTANCE: panel-type metal support consists of side and upper segments made of roll-formed sections with side troughs adjacent to trough having a small trough on its bottom. Troughs are connected in yielding units with lap joints in staggered order by locks in form of coupling devices with bent and flat cover plates installed in holes at segment ends. Side troughs are formed by inclined walls adjacent to flanges and installed in yielding units for interaction with walls of small trough. Bent cover plates are engageable with inclined walls and bottom of side troughs. External surface of side troughs correspond to shape of trough part of special section of which side segments are made in places of conjugation with frame support. Both ends of upper segment located in places of conjugation with frame support have additional holes receiving locks in form of clamps with strips and nuts which are used to fasten side segments of special sections adjacent to side troughs of upper segments. EFFECT: higher stability of support resistance, applicable in junctions, curved parts and branches of mine workings. 2 cl, 4 dwg
