FIELD: optical measurements. SUBSTANCE: specific points are conjugated optically with aperture of photodetector. Distribution of angles of inclination of the beams is transformed into distribution of beam position at cross-section which is disposed between the cross-section to be tested and aperture of photodetector. Aperture distribution is measured at aperture of the photodetector. Distribution of angles of inclination is calculated from intensity distribution measured. The conjugation is made in such a manner, that points at aperture of the photodetector correspond to all the points mentioned. Distribution of beam position is transformed distribution of path-length difference between two components of the beam which are polarized orthogonal. Path-length difference distribution is transformed into intensity distribution at aperture of the photodetector. All the transformations mentioned are made for all the points in beam simultaneously as well. Measurement described is made for all the points of aperture of the photodetector simultaneously. EFFECT: improved precision of measurement. 1 dwg
