METHOD OF MEASUREMENT OF PHYSICAL PARAMETERS OF SUBSTANCE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2040789 C1

FIELD: ultrasonic technology. SUBSTANCE: converter excites and receives supersonic waves passed through plate of predetermined thickness contacting examined liquid. Amplitudes of reflected waves are found, velocity of ultrasound, density and other physical parameters are calculated. For this converter and plane-parallel plate are placed uniaxially in examined liquid at predetermined distance h from each other. Distance h and thickness d of plate are chosen from condition (7-10)d/c1=h/c ,. Then time τ of passing of ultrasonic pulse from converter to plate and back is measured, amplitudes of first and second pulses reflected from nearest surface of plate and of pulse reflected from far surface are determined and velocity C, density r of liquid, attenuation factor aж and longitudinal viscosity η are found by formulas.
