FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: systems and methods for image generation are proposed, in particular a quantitative tomography system and a laser optoacoustic ultrasonic imaging system assembly (LOUISA) for generation of images of a tissue area, for example, subject’s breast. In general, system components are a laser, which emits instant laser radiation pulses in a wavelength changing mode, fiber-optic bundles, or arc-shaped fiber-optic bundles made with the possibility of delivery of laser radiation, an image generation module with image generation capacity, optoacoustic arrays of super-broadband ultrasound converters, and ultrasound arrays of ultrasound converters. In methods for generation of an image of quantitative functional parameters and/or molecular parameters and anatomical structures, in a subject, in a volume of tissue of interest, such as breast, the claimed systems for quantitative tomography and image generation are used.
EFFECT: inventions allow for implementation and use of three-dimensional tomography systems providing full visibility and automatic screening of the entire breast with quantitatively accurate and easily interpretated volumetric images.
