FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: using a direct combined ultrasonic transducer, longitudinal ultrasonic vibrations with a frequency of 10 to 20 MHz are excited in the direction coinciding with the plane of the fold, while the direct combined ultrasonic transducer is installed on the fold, the cavity of which is pre-filled with liquid, accepted using ultrasonic vibrations reflected from the liquid-fibreglass interface by the transducer, their propagation time (t) is measured and the depth of the fold (h) is determined using a formula that includes the following parameters: h - the depth of the fold, C - the speed of ultrasonic waves in the liquid that fills the fold cavity , t - the time of propagation of ultrasonic waves in the fold cavity filled with liquid, tD - the delay time.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of determining the depth of folds in products made of fibreglass materials using a non-destructive ultrasonic method.
