FIELD: sports engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has base provided with longitudinal stiffening ribs protruding beyond the lower bearing plane of the base and border. At least a part of the base in the area between the outer stiffening rib and the border is made in the form of helical surface. The border adjacent to this part of the base makes an angle with the plane tangential to the longitudinal stiffening ribs, the angle facing with its vertex the ski heel. When canting to make a turn, the part of the base being more close to the snow surface starts interacting earlier with the mountain slope creating increased pressure of the base against the snow surface in the contact area, contributing to the improved ski controllability. EFFECT: improved maneuverability in moving along mountain slope. 2 dwg
