FIELD: processing of exit gases. SUBSTANCE: exit gas with impurities of sulfur dioxide is washed with aqueous acid solution, the pH-value being lower than 2, then it comes in contact with sea water with its subsequent aeration. Sewage of aluminium production from aluminium oxide is preferably used; prior to use, hydrochloric acid is added to sewage. Waste aqueous acid solution is subjected to chemical cleaning. Apparatus for processing of exit gases uses a chamber for preliminary washing of exit gas, chamber for its contact with sea water, and an aerator. The chamber for preliminary washing is furnished with a drain system and system for addition of aqueous acid solution. Both chambers can be made as a single unit, and the drain system can be connected to the sewage treatment system. The offered apparatus can be furnished with means for determining the chemical composition of exit gas that are connected to controllers of the aqueous acid solution addition system. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 7 cl, 2 dwg
