FIELD: purification of waters. SUBSTANCE: sewage which contains residue of petroleum products is brought into contact with polymer sorbent. Said sorbent is prepared on the base of ethylstyrene and divinylbenzene. Specific surface of said sorbent is 700-1200 m2/g, total volume of its pores is 0.4-0.6 cm3/g, volume of supermicropores having radius is 0.15-0.25 cm3/g.
