FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: steel for manufacturing of bars is modified by aluminum and boron and contains the following components in the ratio of, by weight: hydrogen 0.13-0.23, silicon 0.17-0.37, manganese 0.7-1.3, chromium 1.8-2.6, nickel 0.1-0.7, molybdenum 0.15-0.30, vanadium 0.1-0.2, aluminum 0.01-0.1, boron 0.0005-0.006, iron the balance. The ratio of boron, aluminum and vanadium is: boron at least 7·10-5 (aluminum 0.2 vanadium). EFFECT: increased strength of bars by improved and stabilized plasticity and toughness of metal. 2 tbl
