FIELD: armour protection of vehicles. SUBSTANCE: armored turret includes main armour made from plates in sector of angles ± 115 deg by shape of tilted truncated cone and cylindrical shape in sector of angles from 115 to 245 deg with ratio of thicknesses equal to 1.5:1.0. Outer additional armour is so mounted that it makes up angle 1-2q30′ with main armour and is placed at distance of 0.8-1.2 thickness of front part of main armour. It is fixed on main armour with the aid of armour booms. Its thickness amounts to 0.15-0.30 thickness of front part of main armour. Outer additional armour provides for reduced armour-piercing capability of shell and availability of air gap ensures distribution of fragments of disintegrated shell over larger area of main armour. EFFECT: formation of differentiating protection of armour object against shells and their fragments. 3 cl, 3 dwg
