FIELD: microwave technology. SUBSTANCE: microstrip directional coupler has two transmission lines connected through three structures spaced quarter wavelength apart and electromagnetically coupled at these distances. Each structure is essentially point-to-point inductance coil connected to transmission lines through lengths of the latter arranged on opposite sides of their current-carrying conductors.
