FIELD: materials handling operations; protection of thread. SUBSTANCE: device has metal shell with rolled down end face, threaded insert made of elastomer and arrangement for fixing the shell on insert which is made up of set of locking members arranged on rolled down end face of shell and having the form of triangular teeth. Insert has grooves to receive and fix teeth on corresponding end. Made on side surface of insert are cuts in form of uniformly spaced blind slots of axial direction whose depth is not less than 2/3 rds of wall thickness. Design of device prevents turning of shell on insert and enhances operation reliability of device. EFFECT: enhanced protection of thread in loading and unloading operations. 3 dwg
