FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: workpieces are fed to the storage unit. The abrasive belt is given motion. The workpieces from the storage unit go to the abrasive belt and the latter shifts them to the notch of the guiding clamp. The clamp cross-section is made in the form of a notch having the shape of the longitudinal section of the processed workpieces. The longitudinal section of the clamp consists of the intake and calibrating parts. The generatrix of the intake part is made at the angle α to that of the calibrating part. The angle is chosen as a function of constituents of the cutting forces and the friction coefficient. The workpiece transposition with the speed of the belt movement continues up to the moment at which the upper part of the workpiece comes into contact with the inclined surface of the clamp intake part. When the workpiece comes into contact with the inclined surface of the chute, it becomes detached in the direction of the abrasive belt. The difference in the speeds of the workpiece and abrasive belt movements provides for the allowance removal from the workpiece. The process of the allowance removal takes place while the workpiece travels in the intake part of the chute. After the allowance removal the abrasive belt shifts the workpiece to the calibrating part of the chute where the lapping of the workpiece is exercised with respect to the quality of the processed surface and the final size of the workpiece. The abrasive belt shifts the workpiece from the calibrating part to the receptacle of finished products. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of grinding. 3 dwg
